Wald International has never been one to offer subtle styling. Whether it's the Lexus IS-F or the Mercedes-Benz CL, the Japanese tuner loves to create a bold look with vents, wings and wheels. The tuner recently turned its attention to the Nissan GT-R, and while we don't have official information on the car, the photos offer a good look at what the package will include. A vented front fascia and splitter, side skirts, rear fender flares, a rear diffuser, carbon fiber rear spoiler and 22-inch wheels all lend to the more aggressive look. We actually like the majority of the body kit, although we'd prefer the rear fender flares to be the same color as the body, and the larger wheels probably don't do much for the performance of the car. In the end, though, we'd probably spend our hard earned money on some of the Club Sport components from NISMO.

With legions of tuning shops in a furious race to leave no Nissan GT-R unmodified, the latest kit unveiled by Wald is a salvo against obnoxiousness. The fellows behind the Nissan GT-R GT500 have fired up the autoclaves and delivered body parts that accentuate the bumps and curves of the standard GT-R, rather than the ego of the driver. Available are fender flares, side skirts, a front fascia, rear fascia with built-in diffuser, rear wing add-on and chin spoiler. We expect forum fanboys to call it boring, but we think it looks pretty tasteful

In the Japanese instruction manual for the GT-R, Nissan actually specifies that customers should not try to ‘improve’ their cars with bodykits or oversized spoilers. However in this case we will make an exception, with Japanese styling company WALD International having today released its first preliminary renderings of its own take on the GT-R. Still in the concept stage, the WALD Sportsline GT-R certainly shows promise in conveying the Nissan’s ruthless performance - if not a little over the top. Despite being located in Japan, the company mainly focuses on styling European models - particularly Mercedes-Benz and BMW.

Nissan To Offer Convertible Murano To US Market

The Nissan Murano has been with us for a while now and has gone through some upgrades that include both visual and technological as well as aesthetically. Whether or not we will get the same updated design is not yet known but one thing is for sure though, the Murano will be taking off its top to entertain its American customers while leaving no word of other possible markets.

Nissan To Offer Convertible Murano To US Market

When introduced, the Murano convertible will be the only other four-door convertible in the market other than the rugged Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Expected to hit the US market in 2010, Nissan insiders are saying that it will only be produced in limited numbers, which kills any chances there were of it making it to our shores.

So while retractable hardtops are still the choice among car builders, Nissan will stick to the traditional soft top. One of the reasons for doing so is the overall weight that a retractable hardtop will add to the car which could ultimately affect fuel consumption. The Murano is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine that develops 265hp and power will be channeled to all fours or the front two depending on driver choice.

Nissan has unveiled its all-new 2009 Murano crossover SUV at the L.A. Auto Show, currently on until the 25th November. Initially launched in 2003 as a 2004 model, the Murano “city SUV” has received an extensive freshen-up.

The 2009 Murano is powered by a revised version of the familiar 3.5-litre DOHC V6 engine which in second generation tune provides a handy 198kW/265hp, more than enough to see the “sporty SUV” theme carried through to the new model. Drive is handled by the latest advanced Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with a FWD or an AWD set-up.

In addition to the mechanical upgrades, the 2009 Murano features a new platform and body structure as well as new exterior and interior features. The exterior is an evolution of the first-generation Murano and includes a chrome grille, high waistline, bulging wheel-arches, rear LED tail-lights and standard 18-inch alloys with 20-inch alloys available as an option.

On the inside, the 2009 Murano benefits from a redesigned front fascia and centre console that includes a push button ignition while double stitched leather trim with aluminium trim pieces help to lift the interior feel. Interior ‘toys’ include an 11-speaker audio system, rear-view camera, i-Pod connectivity and a touch screen navigation system that features a 9.3GB hard-drive.

2007 Nissan 350Z

This is the era of modifications for the Nissan. Having an origin from the 1970 Datsun 240 Z, the new 2007 Nissan 350Z brings new definition for car style and performance.

The 2007 model comes with three chic colors – carbon silver, solar orange and San Marino Blue. To tempt the sporty car lovers, the Touring and Grand Touring Coupe models have been provided with a Bluetooth hands-free phone system.

The VQ35HR engine is worth of its value. With the extended power of this 3.5-liter engine, the vehicle can now boast of 306 horsepower power output at 6,88 rpm and a 268 lb-ft of torque at 4,800rpm. It can make the 90% of the torque available in 2,000-7,000 rpm. Thanks to the new symmetric twin ram air intake system that helped the engine reduce the airflow resistance and increase the horsepower by 3HP.

In addition to the power features, the engine is provided with an efficient sound system that reduces the noise level considerably. Two transmissions, 6-speed close-ratio manual transmission and 5-speed automatic transmission, are available for the new Nissan.

The 350Z Coupe is characterized by a front engine/rear-wheel-drive configuration and a two-seat interior and a hatchback body as in its standard model. Other modifications include special LED lights in the beltline, an aluminum hood, vertical door handles and heated outside mirrors. Extra storage space is added by the addition of a cupholder in each door panels and on the passenger side foot well.

Apart from the standard Bose audio system and satellite radio facility, the 2007 Coupe has been provided with Z’s Nissan Navigation System that is capable of intelligent search capability and split screen capability.

Nissan Skyline celebrated its 50th anniversary today in grand style at an event held at Tokyo’s new Midtown development. Dating back to 1957, the Skyline is a legendary car in the Nissan line-up with a long heritage of style and performance, beloved by motoring fans all over the world.

Taking this opportunity, Nissan also showed the all-new Skyline Coupe today, making its first appearance in Japan. The new Skyline Coupe is scheduled for release this fall in Japan.

Present at the celebrations were the chief engineers that led the product development of each generation Skyline, including Shinichiro Sakurai, chief development engineer of the first Skyline model. The event featured a film presentation that reflected the evolution of the Skyline design, performance and image throughout the different eras of each generation Skyline.

A fashion show entitled “Skyline GT Collection” was held in commemoration of the anniversary, featuring twelve of today’s most popular fashion models, including Yoko Horiuchi. The models were dressed in specifically designed outfits, inspired by each generation Skyline.

Celebrity guests included musician Joe Hisaishi, actor Ken Watanabe, while major league baseball player Ichiro offered his congratulations via a video message. Each of these celebrities share in a common trait with the Skyline i.e. that they were born in Japan but have since gained fame and recognition in the global arena. Mr. Hisaishi’s latest composition, I Will Be, written for the Skyline’s new TV commercial, was performed for the first time by Mai Hisaishi, who is also featured on the commercial.

The Skyline 50th Anniversary exhibition, featuring each generation Skyline model, will be open to the public at Tokyo Midtown Garden from Tuesday, April 24th to Sunday, May 6th. The new Skyline Coupe and the Skyline GT Collection fashion line will be on exhibit at the Midtown Atrium from Wednesday, April 25th through Sunday, May 6th.

What's New?

Unlike many other new cars that usually replace an existing model, the Latio is a new name to Nissan. While we are told that it is not a direct replacement to the long-serving Sunny (a new model is planned) the Latio, which is meant to sit just below the well-known sedan, comfortably fills its shoes for now.

Aside from being similar in size to the current Sunny or Sentra, it has a list of standard features that would embarrass many more expensive self-proclaimed luxury cars. Take its intelligent key system for example, like the Keyless Go system first seen on the more expensive Mercedes-Benz models, Nissan's equivalent works in much the same way, letting the driver lock and unlock the doors or even start the engine without needing to fish the key from a pocket or handbag.

This keyless system works beautifully and is thoroughly idiot proof. We tried to 'fool' system by trying to lock the car with the key still in it. But in every one of our 'scenarios' the Latio kept its windscreen intact by refusing to lock us out.

Other notable features on Nissan's compact family car include a 'Clean Ion' climate control air-conditioning system that apparently charges the cooled cabin air with negative ions which is supposed to be good for you.

All but the base model also get upholstery in a combination of leather and suede-like Alcantara which not only feels good but keeps its occupants from sliding in theirs seats if the driver gets too enthusiastic in his driving.

Although the Latio scores highly on the feature count, its exterior design leaves something to be desired. Opt for the hatchback variant, the Latio Sport however, and the car's proportions are much better resolved with a more contemporary stance. With the same features as the sedan, the Sport manages to offer more style, without forsaking any of its substance.

How It Performs
Animated by a 1.5-litre engine, the Latio is available with either a five-speed manual or Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). With the latter, no one expects the Latio to be a sports car but in reality is deceptively spritely as its superb noise insulation and refinement does a good job of hiding its surprising pace.

Approach three-figure speeds and the Latio Sport turns in a much better composed ride than the sedan as it feels more stable in places where its sibling started to 'float'.

How It Stacks Up
By now you might be able to tell that we'd pick the Latio Sport over the sedan anytime. This choice is also made easier knowing that it more than makes up for the obvious deficit in boot space with a rear bench that slides fore and aft to offer more legroom or cargo space. For good measure the rear backrests also split and fold in a 60:40 ratio for longer loads.

With this versatility, generous appointment, decent styling - and significantly - keen pricing, it's easy to see why we're tempted to call this small car the

2008 Nissan Altima Coupe, the all new 2 door coupe version for the present 2007 Altima sedan will be the first 2 door Altima and does not look like a sedan on which it is based. Introduced in Los Angeles Auto Show in November, the best selling vehicle from Nissan is going to solidify its position further. The sedan based 2 door version will catch the fancy of its riders with its perfect magnetic styling, height that is lower the sedan, shorter wheelbase and overall shorter length.

The XM Real-time traffic reporting, push-button starter the standard “Intelligent Key”, nine-speaker Bose audio, touch screen navigation system, Bluetooth phone connectivity are some of the features of 2008 Altima Coupe Nissan for its gizmos friendly riders. Get ready to be tumbled upon by the great things it has in store beneath its sheet metal body too. The choice of 3.5-liter 270-hp, 258-lb-ft, V-6 engines coupled to either 6 speed manual or CVT transmissions and a 175-hp, 180 lb-ft, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is going to woo its users.

The highly praised “D” platform based vehicle is optimized to give a sporty feel with great handling and responsiveness which is provided by its Xtronic CVT transmission. The Advanced Air Bag System with dual-stage front supplemental air bags, front seat side impact supplemental air bags for chest protection and roof-mounted curtain side impact air bags for front and rear outboard occupant head protection and Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones are some of its over the top safety features.

According to Bill Bosley, vice president/general manager, Nissan, “Rather than just eliminating two doors from the Altima Sedan, we gave the Altima Coupe its own style, its own dimensions and its own interpretation of Nissan’s exhilarating driving pleasure”.

2007 Nissan Altima Sedan, 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe and now what…. What about a convertible??
